Services

I try to work in a way that accounts for modern life and work styles. I understand that what works for one client, won't necessarily work for another. Therefore, I offer both face to face and zoom sessions. I offer both modes of delivery to ensure that you can access my services in a way that works for you.
Please read the information below to determine what mode of therapy you think would best suit your needs and circumstances.

In Person Therapy

How it works:

In person therapy would take place at one the locations I work from. I rent these rooms from companies that rent to therapists. The rooms are set up with consideration of the needs of a counselling session.

This method of accessing counselling can be very useful to those who do not feel that they have a quiet/confidential space elsewhere, to partake in remote therapy. Some people also prefer the connection they feel meeting their therapist face-to-face and being present in the space with another person, rather then connecting remotely.

Practicalities:

I work from 3 locations, you can highlight which location you are enquiring about if you choose to contact me. You will need to allow time to travel to and from your session. This can be a beneficial aspect following the session as it gives you some processing time before going back to work or family.

You need to consider whether the room set up and accessibility meets your personal needs. I have details outlined on my 'location' page, but you can also contact me with regards to any specific needs or questions.

A large benefit to face-to-face counselling is having a predetermined space that will be quiet and confidential, it can give you the privacy you may not be able to get at home; ensuring you can speak freely and honestly without fear of being over-heard or interrupted.

Summary:

This method may feel more suited to your needs or you may find this would face you with challenges that online delivery may not. We can discuss your preference for face-to-face work during our initial consultation where you can ask more questions.

Online - Therapy

How it works:

Remote therapy takes place online over zoom, we agree a day and time in the same way as a face-to-face session. This method of accessing counselling is ideal for some people. A few examples...it can help if you have mobility issues or a disability and travel is difficult, don't live local to the counsellor you've connected with or have social anxiety challenges.

Practicalities:

You need to have a stable internet connection, a webcam and microphone attached to your laptop, computer or phone. Most importantly you would require access to a space that is confidential, private and quiet. Remote therapy still needs to maintain privacy and confidentiality. For some people this is not feasible or possible depending on their living situation, in this case face-to-face work may be better suited.

Location and timing is still essential and needs to be considered for online counselling. For example, it wouldn't be ethical, confidential or safe for you to partake in a zoom counselling session while in the shops, running errands or driving. Conducting sessions at work or in break times is also not necessarily suitable. Although you may have access to a private space/office, the emotional aspect of the session needs to be considered. You ideally need a little time and space after a session to process what come up for you, this may not be possible if you have to head straight back to work.

Summary:

In the same way that face-to-face therapy might not be suitable for everyone, neither are online sessions. We would discuss your preference for online work and whether this is suitable, during our initial consultation.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

This will depend largely on your main presenting issue(s). I offer short term and long term counselling.

I would normally recommend a minimum of 10 sessions, even for short-term work.

Long-term counselling is open ended with no set number of sessions, we would still check-in on a regular basis in order to establish your needs and check these are being met.

We can discuss the potential number of sessions you may need and length of therapy during our 20 minute free consultation. The number of sessions can always be reviewed and extended or reduced if needed, you are not locked into a set number of sessions.

Fees

I currently charge £50 per session for daytime sessions (before 5pm) - In Person & Online

I currently charge £55 per session for evening sessions (after 5pm) - In Person & Online

I offer a limited amount of discounted sessions at £40 per hour for those on income benefits, OAP's and student counsellors. Please outline in your initial contact if you're enquiring about discounted sessions.
